You have a secret identity you don’t know about

We can’t see ourselves.

People often say to me in frustration, “When you show that to me now, it’s so obvious. I don’t know why I couldn’t see it myself! Why can YOU see what I’m doing so clearly but I can’t?!”

I smile and answer, “I can see it better because it’s not me. You can’t read the label from inside the jar.”

Don’t you love that expression?

I heard it last year for the first time and thought, YES!! That’s so true.

We flounder through our issues and blindly repeat the same patterns again and again until something shows us what we’re doing and only then do we see it. That’s when we finally have some power because when we see something, we can choose what to do with it.

I went to a party once where each of us had a label stuck on our back as we came through the door. It described some profession. We didn’t know what it was but everyone had to respond to us according to our profession and we had to try guess what it was based on their responses.

It was hilarious and also frustrating trying to guess why people are treating you the way they do.

It’s like life. We walk around representing something to others, broadcasting our unique frequency and personality – and all our issues and hang ups – and people respond accordingly. Then we get to guess what our issues and hang ups are from their responses.

We can’t read our label from inside the jar. We don’t know what we are to others. We can’t experience ourselves from the outside.

Someone recently asked me to describe in detail what working with me or reading my book will give them. “WHY should I love myself? WHY should I follow my Truth? WHAT will I get out of it?”

And you know what?  I really struggled to answer. Because as much as I know what I’m experiencing and intending to do with this work, I don’t really know how others receive it. What exactly is the impact on someone who hears my message, picks up my book, does my workshop…? I DON’T KNOW!

Isn’t that quite crazy?

So I thought, ‘Who could tell me what my label is?’ and then I realised, ‘Oh, the people who are the best equipped to tell me what I do are the blessed preciouses who have already experienced the results of my work.’
So I’ve decided to ask you to help me read my label.

Please would you take five minutes now to click ‘Reply’ and write to me and tell me about your ‘before and after’ story? It can be really brief, but I’d appreciate it so much. Because in a weird sort of way, I don’t know what it is that my work does. I don’t really understand the actual impact on YOU. I know what I’d LIKE it to be, just like we know how we’d LIKE others to see us, but we don’t really know or have any control over it.

I want to be able to answer that question and say, “When you start to love yourself and listen to your truth this is what you get. This is the transformation that happens.”

So will you help me see and understand my work better? You’ll be helping me and I’m hoping that reviewing your own journey will bring you some useful insights about how far you’ve come.

Click reply right now and jot down a few thoughts. Don’t worry about pretty wording or careful editing. Rough draft it! Keep it real. I just want to hear from you about your unique experiences and feedback. I want to learn more.

This is what I’d be interested to know but feel free to write whatever you want:

  1. How was life for you before you knew about asking, “If I loved myself” and following your truth and meeting your needs?
  2. What attracted you to this message enough to choose to sign up or follow it?
  3. Has doing this changed your world view, self image, self trust, life, relationships, work, parenting in any way?
  4. Is there anything you think I should know about what I’m doing?

Thank you so much for being part of this journey!! Thank you so much for wanting to love yourself more.
