See? It’s Not Your Child Making You Feel That Way
Brandon Bays, The Journey:
“We all think – “It’s the traffic that makes me angry”, or – “It’s the news that pisses me off”, or – “If only so-and-so would get it right then I wouldn’t have to blow up at him”. We think what causes our anger is something outside of us, when in truth, the anger is already stored inside. Those outer circumstances just push our button, and activate the emotion that was there all along. The anger button is not the only button we have. A whole host of buried emotions are stored inside us, and our outer circumstances are merely triggers that activate what is already stored inside. Sometimes I think diseases can turn out to be our greatest gifts.”
